Swing trading is a style of trading where the trader holds onto a stock for more than a day sometimes weeks.

This is different from day trading where the trader goes into and out of one or more trades each day and rarely leaves his position on overnight.

Swing trading is better for a new trader in order to give some time in a trade to get their “feet wet” before venturing into day trading.

Of course leaving your positions on overnight, as with swing trading, is not always such a good idea so make sure you have a stock that has potential for growth. Markets fluctuate so much, especially today, that anything could happen to your position overnight.

So as with all stock trading you must do your research diligently. Watch your stock charts and learn all you can about the underlying financials of any company whose stock you plan on swing trading.
